Givati received his SJD from Harvard Law School in 2011. During his fellowship, he worked on a project on whistleblower laws, from a normative and positive perspective, utilizing both theory and emipirics. The project addressed issues such as the desirability of whistleblower laws, the optimal size of whistleblower awards, and the political economy factors the affect the decision to adopt whistleblower laws and shape them.
