Ethics Society

Ethics Society Mission:

Our goal is to encourage collaborative and accessible discourse on pressing ethical issues and to supply students and the wider public with an ethical toolkit that they can productively apply to their daily lives.

 

What does Ethics Society do?

  • Ethics Bowl Competitions
    • Debate against other teams on ethical issues and travel to regional and national competitions
    • Hold weekly meetings for the competing teams to prepare their cases
  • Coffee Chat Series with Harvard Professors
    • Invite professors to speak about their work in small groups at local cafes
  • Public Discussions
    • Host several public discussions for Harvard community about topical issues
  • Ethics in the Community
    • Lead a workshop for K-12 students to teach them ethics in partnership with a non-profit or volunteer in partner community initiatives
  • Research Publication Opportunities 
    • Research and publications opportunities in national ethics and philosophy journals
  • Socials
    • We hold socials throughout the semester, including a boat cruise at the end of the year
 

Interested in Joining?

We have a 6 week curriculum to become a member of Ethics Society. At meetings once a week throughout the semester, we will introduce basic ethical concepts and teach you how to break down issues through different ethical lenses. No prior experience is necessary!
