Renan Ferreirinha Carneiro

Renan Ferreirinha Carneiro, originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a senior concentrating in Economics with a secondary field in Government. He is interested in Economics of Education, Behavioral Economics, Political Philosophy, and Latin American Politics. His senior thesis will analyze whether the practice of corruption by politicians and other society leaders, particularly in Brazil, has any correlation with other immoral practices, such as cutting lines and cheating in school. Outside of the classroom, Renan is co-founder of "Mapa Educação", a national youth movement for education that has generated massive popular attention in Brazil. He is also a Brazilian Ambassador at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin America Studies; Director of the Harvard Youth Leadership Initiative; and board member and former co-president of the Harvard Brazilian Association.
