New Book by Faculty Associate Katrina Forrester

January 25, 2018

Faculty Associate Katrina Forrester's new book, Nature, Action and the Future: Political Thought and the Environment (Cambridge University Press, 2018), co-edited with Sophie Smith, is published today.

In the book, Forrester and Smith convene a group of political theorists and historians including Richard Tuck, Melissa Lane, Quentin Skinner and others, to ask how the history of political thought can help address the great challenge of climate change. By situating the relationship between humans and nature within a wider history of ideas, these essays provide alternative ways of thinking about the most intractable problems of environmental politics - from the status of science in modern democracies, problems of collective action, to the challenges of fatalism. Their book is available from the Cambridge University Press website here and for pre-order on Amazon here.
