The Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics invites applications for the position of Research Director (RD).

Job description: Working closely with the Center’s Director, faculty, and fellows, the RD will develop and manage a portfolio of collaborative projects and dissemination projects that would yield a stream of work outputs of interest to broad audiences, and support the intellectual work of grant development to sustain this portfolio of activities. The RD will participate in thematic seminars and conferences, and will work with the Director on their development. The RD will foster and maintain relationships with the Center’s broad constituency and will help make useful thematic connections through collaboration. The RD will assist with the development of the newly launched Fellows-in-Residency program, including helping to plan and oversee a weekly seminar, and evaluating its progress. The RD will assist with short and long-range planning to meet objectives, policy development and implementation, and other projects such as writing the annual report and other communications.

Basic qualifications: Masters degree required along with 3-5 years related experience.

Additional Qualifications: PhD and experience working within an academic institution strongly preferred. Ability to show deep engagement with subject matter and the ability to think originally and creatively. Ability to work in the context of a highly dynamic, multidisciplinary, and collaborative group environment. Ability to manage multiple projects and programs independently showing the highest level of judgment and diplomacy.

Start date: July 1, 2015

  • This is a term position to begin July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016, with the expectation of renewal.
  • The position is full-time.

Compensation: Salary grade 59; health benefits.
