Michael Morisy

Morisy is the co-founder of MuckRock.com, a freedom of information tool that allows anyone to submit freedom of information requests without licking a stamp, suffering legalese or leaving their browser. The site, funded in part by the Sunlight Foundation, has led investigations into FBI surveillance, government waste and hundreds of others issues of local and national importance.

Morisy has previously written for Business 2.0, Commonwealth Magazine and the New York Daily News. His reporting for the latter was part of the Pulitzer Prize-winning series "Forgotten Heroes," which examined the toxic dangers the 9/11 rescue and clean up crews entered at Ground Zero and led to reforms for their medical care. He was an honorary mention for the Online News Associations' MJ Bear Fellowship.
