Marcia Hams

Director of Prescription Access and Quality, Community Catalyst, Boston

Project: Measuring the Effectiveness of Conflicts-of-Interest Policies at Medical Schools and Teaching Hospitals.

Ms. Hams directs reform initiatives on prescription drug pricing and access, evidence-based practice and conflicts of interest at Community Catalyst, a national non-profit consumer health care organization based in Boston. The project will analyze the results of a survey developed for academic medical centers to assess their COI policies. Broad adoption of the instrument could contribute to curbing inappropriate influence by the pharmaceutical and medical device industry on AMCs and help to protect the integrity of patient care and medical education.

She holds a M.A. from Boston University and a B.A. from Pomona College, Claremont, CA.
