Karl Lauterbach is Professor of Health Economics and Epidemiology, and since 1998 he has served as Director of the Institute of Health Economy and Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Cologne. In 2005 he was elected into the German Bundestag, where he is a member of the committee on health politics.
