Julia Manso is a sophomore in Kirkland House from San Antonio, TX, studying economics, philosophy, and public policy. With a particular focus on socioeconomic disparity and inequality, Julia is interested in applying a normative lens in an economic policymaking context, understanding the value systems that underpin what we expect of governments and our fellow citizens. At Harvard, she is the Co-Executive Director of the Latina Empowerment and Development Conference, is involved in several economics organizations, and teaches debate to local high school students. In her free time, Julia enjoys learning languages (currently Russian), mentoring youth, training for a mini- triathlon, and spending time with friends.
