A long-time member of the Center, Jean worked as Administrative Director during founding director Dennis F. Thompson's tenure. More recently, Jean rejoined the Center to help launch and coordinate the Edmond J. Safra Undergraduate Fellowship program, inaugurated in the spring of 2013 to provide Harvard College students the opportunity to develop the skills essential to tackling moral issues inherent in public life. With the Undergraduate Fellowship program up and running, Jean transitioned to an advisory role at the Center in 2014, providing guidance on larger issues as well as support on ad hoc projects.
Jean spent the first ten years of her Harvard career as the Program Manager of the Fellows Program at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, during the tenure of Benjamin H. Brown. Jean is a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland, where she worked for the Ministry of Education and the Probation Service. Her last position there was Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director for Public Prosecutions, the department established in response to the findings of the Scarman Tribunal report of 1969. In her other life, Jean enjoys music, history, astronomy, current events, and golf.
