Aniket De is a PhD Candidate in the Department of History, studying the history of modern South Asia and the British Empire. His dissertation analyzes the intellectual and cultural history of federalist thought in colonial India. He studies the articulation of federalist ideas in India as an ethical problem—of sharing political space and sovereignty in a subcontinent inhabited by multiple religious and linguistic communities. Aniket received a BA in history and anthropology from Tufts University, and an MA in history from Harvard.
