Inequalities/Equalities in Cities Workshop

Date:

Friday, April 15, 2016, 9:30am to 5:00pm

Reservation is closed. This workshop is FULL.

This one-day workshop on structural inequalities & equalities in cities will have a non-traditional form, encouraging a rich set of conversations to bring together normative, social scientific, and policy perspectives. The goal will be expansive conversation that opens up new possibilities for re-orienting policy paradigms particularly as they apply to urban contexts.

Clarissa Hayward and Danielle Allen will begin the day by setting up the conversation, explaining their motivations for the workshop and identifying key questions. Two conversations will follow, the first on governance and housing and the second on policing. “Conversation starters” assigned to each topic will open up the discussion on the subject of where and how they think policy paradigms for dealing with the relevant policy domain might need to be revised. Additional participants will contribute to the discussions throughout the day. All members of our Ethics Center community are welcome to participate as well.
