Mello holds a law degree from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Health Policy and Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her fellowship year, she conducted a survey of medical school research administrators regarding their awareness and oversight of non-financial aspects of faculty consulting relationships.
