Kirsten Austad

Kirsten Austad is an MD candidate in the class of 2013 at Harvard Medical School. She received a BS in Medical Microbiology & Immunology and English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007. Upon graduation she gained experience in international health, conducting community-based projects with health workers in Ghana, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, as well as national health policy through the American Medical Student Association. During the fellowship, she will explore the socialization process of medical education and conduct a national survey of American medical students' views about the pharmaceutical industry in conjunction with the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology & Pharmacoeconomics, Department of Medicine, Brigham and Women's Hospital.
